I worked out for 30 minutes and my heartbeat was at "peak" and "cardio" for 15 minutes, however when I synced my Fitbit Surge but the exercise never synced. Also, I have not been able to get a Personal Best trophy even though I know for a fact I have beat my records in the challenges and yet my friends do get it. What is going on?!

I know what you mean, it is frustrating, we use these devices for self motivation and to keep on track and when they are not showing up its disappointing, I have the same isssue and just this weekend competed in the goal day for that special badge even though I did it both days, still no badge, while others that did it with me got theirs...I have no answers,sorry.
