Portable charging options - FitBit Surge

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a Surge. Great device, and i'm very happy with it, however I am finding it very hard to get any information about portable charging options.

While fitbit do not recommend anythings other than charging on a USB via laptop/computer, this offers no flexiblity for someone who may need to charge, and not have access to a computer!

I'm going to be doing a multiday hike, and I would like to try record my days.

My battery will not last 6-7 days with GPS, and carrying a laptop etc is out of the question!

Is anyone charing the Surge with a battery pack, and if so can you recommend one that will work?

Many thanks,

J

Hello @jusmeig,

Welcome to the community!

I charge my One with a battery pack occasionally and it works; in fact, I just did it a couple of days ago.  The potential problem with charging from a battery pack is that it may charge too quickly and damage your device or overcharge it.

I imagine you'll be perfectly fine if you charge up to about 75%, a little each day, and disconnect it.  The one I have is a Tylt plug in model.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm guessing something like this might do the trick?!

https://www.amazon.co.uk/RAVPower-16750mAh-Portable-External-Technology/dp/B00OJXVDAU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=...

I paranoid I will plug it in and fry it!
