Rain damage, 4 days in...

So - got my first fitbit (a surge) last Thursday. Used it for a bike ride and to go for a walk, was all working fine.

Went for a run on Tuesday. It was cold and raining reasonably heavily, ran about 8k, took about 50 mins.

When I got home the screen was almost totally obscured with water, and I was only just able to see the data. Since then the problem seemed to get worse and now I can't see the screen at all, it is totally unusable.

Obviously I'm pretty unhappy - basically I've got three days use out of it before being totally ruined. And living in the UK, it's not uncommon for it to rain here - it's not as if I'd be able to keep it bone dry all the time.

I'm assuming that I'll get a replacement as my surge was clearly not water resistant, but I get the impression from these forums that water damage is a grey area? Anyone able to provide any clarity?

From the Fitbit Article:

URL: Can I swim or shower with my tracker?

All Fitbit trackers are water-resistant, which means they are rain-proof and splash-proof and can stand up to even the sweatiest workout.

I originally owned the Charge HR and along with 4 other people in my office the moisture issue killed everyones Charge HR with 6 months.  I bought the surge thinking maybe it was better.  I have been diligent in trying to make sure I did not get the surge wet other than sweating and now have moisture forming inside on the screen.  I am very disappointed and hope that Fitbit figures out how correct this problem.  Great idea...Poor Execution.
