I have had my Surge almost 2 years (actually, only one, since the first one had to be replaced one year ago). I've had perennial problems getting it to charge, as the connection with the pins on the Surge is very problematical. So, I have bought a Charge 2, which has the capabilities I was looking for in the Surge (GPS, now via iPhone, and multiple activities tracked). My question is, if I just put Surge in a drawer and let its battery run down will it be revivable at some point in the future, or will it just die like the original Charge HR I had before it? (You can tell I'm a loyal Fitbit customer!)

These types of batteries need to be charged. If not they totally die.
You can have 2 devices on one account as long as they are dfifferent.
Why not switch them off. Thats what i do wear a different one daily

Have you tried the instructions on cleaning the contacts (both Surge and charger) with rubbing alcohol as applied via a cotton swab or similar?
I've used this technique for a few months, which now looks to be all the life I can squeeze out of mine, as even this cleaning technique (which I now have to do nearly every other day when I charge my Surge) still leaves me having to play around with the Surge and its cable to get just the right tension and positioning on it to charge.
So, while cleaning the contacts gave my Surge a few more months of usable life, I think I'll probably have to retire it soon as well.
Note that it's at least the 2nd (maybe 3rd?) Surge I've had, for a single original purchase, because of electrical and charge-connectivity issues in the past...so even though it's been a total of only 2.3 years, it's not like FitBit hasn't made good efforts to keep me in business by shipping me new ones free of charge. But I do plan on looking at different vendors, assuming I decide to continue with a personal tracking device. (Not an iPhone user though, so it likely won't be an Apple iAnything or compatible.)
