Screen blacked out

My surge is fully charged and I felt a vibrate and the screen is blank and has think black lines going up and down. The back still has blinking green light.

You can try restarting it: restart

The screen is gray so when attempting to restart the screen doesn't change at all. No indication it has shut down. No response in s restart attempt.

I am on the line with Fitbit support. There is no fix for this. They advised that I could buy a new one with a 25% discount. Unfortunate.
