Step counter is out of control

I woke up this morning and within 5 minutes of being awake, my Fitbit had told me I'd got up to 10,000 steps today! I've noticed that the steps count is going up in multiple's of 5 steps per each second (when I'm not moving) and am currently up to 48,000 steps for the day (it is 11.20am!), when in reality I've probably only walked 500 steps max!

Clearly something has gone wrong with my device over night - I've tried switching it off and rebooting it, however all is well for a short time, but when I make any movement, the count starts again.

Has this happened to anyone else, and if so - is there a fix?

Accepted Solutions

I found the solution. I basically re-set my Fitbit by pressing the left button and lower button on the right for 15 seconds and it recalibrated by device. The problem is now addressed.
