Hi @acruitt, welcome to the Forums! Ok let me explain you that the wrist trackers, like the Surge, may calculate extra steps when you are moving your arms and body. Another factor that may affect the steps count is the fact that you are using your Surge on your Dominant hand, because if it's the hand you use more, your tracker will give you extra steps when you are actually not walking. I also recommend you to check out this article "How accurate is my Surge", and as I mentioned, I recommend you to use your Surge on your non dominant hand and give it a try.
