Hi, @Rita1963, this is mainly a peer-to-peer help forum where Fitbit users offer help/advice/suggestions to other users. You can't get in touch directly with Fitbit Customer support by posting here. If you need to speak to them, you can get their contact details from contact.fitbit.com.
As you probably know, in most parts of the world the Fitbit warranty is for 12 months. In the European Economic Area it is 24 months. But even if your husband's Surge is out of warranty it is worth getting in touch with Fitbit customer support, as I have heard that in that case they often offer loyal customers a discount on a replacement Fitbit.
