According to the Win10 Fitbit App my stride length should be automatically adjusted after each walk/run:
However, it doesn't. Not even when I turn Auto on, it'll just be off again when I check back in the app later.
I've calculated (walk length divided by steps) the stride lengths of the walking exercises I've done since I got my surge and my latest walk had a stride length of 74.4cm while the average of all walks is 76.6cm. So why hasn't the value hanged?
Furthermore, the website settings doesn't mention this and I can't even find stride length anywhere on the android app (on a side note: it would be really nice if there was a bit more consistency across the different fitbit applications).

Fitbit App for Windows 10 -> Account -> Advanced Settings -> Stride Length
Best AnswerHi everyone! @Gelunox You're seeing the stride length feature for Surge...already! The feature is designed to use your Surge's GPS to provide a more accurate stride length. However, there is currently an issue preventing this feature from working as intended. We plan to have an app update that will resolve this issue. Once we have more information, we'll definitely let you know.
If you have any further questions, please let me know!
I agree, turn on the automatic and sync with my iphone gps. the stride length never changes. Its on, green when I check back. I walk not run. I also sync sometimes with Map My Walk. last time I was one mile shorter with my fit bit than Map my walk. 4.4 miles with fitbit, 5.62 miles with map my walk
Best AnswerIs this bug still there? I just went for a run with my Inspire HR and the Fitbit app with GPS tracking where the app is set to automatically update my stride length. I didn't see my stride length change before or after the run.
Best AnswerI have the same issue on the iOS app. My Fitbit tracks my distances as 20-30% further than what they actually are. When I try to set my stride automatically it just turns itself off immediate after exiting the stride length settings. When I set my stride as what I calculated it to be it doesn’t use it. My Fitbit is still terribly innaccurate. I wouldnt hesitate to sell it and buy a Garmin but it was a gift.
