Surge Band Quaility

totally agree with all the posts re the quality of the Surge bands I am 2 weeks out of warranty & the band on my surge has come apart. I know of a couple of other people who also have the surge whose's bands are also splitting, Mine was on the top from rubbing on clothing etc where it has split but know it is common for this to also happen where the screws are on the back. Very disappointing that there is no option for replacement bands and a very poor design for a fitness tracker which is expected to handle the exercise that it participates in. I have sent an email to customer support but don't expect anything as out of warranty. I have taped the band for the moment whilst I investigate other options as from all the feedback this is a common problem with the surge and they are not cheap in Australia hence don't want to invest $$$ again for an item that is only going to last 12 months. Pretty sure there are other options on the market that are comparable any suggestions?.

@TeffNeff Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for your feedback! For Australia the warranty lasts 2 years I believe. Have you received a response from customer support already? I'm sure they will find a solution for you right away.

I have gone through 2 bands in 18 months. I will now be ordering one of these to see if they last longer; https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Silicone-Replacement-Watch-Wrist-Strap-Band-For-Fitbit-Surge-watch-b...

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Zane @Gizzo0604

@Zane I recommend contacting the Support Team so they can review the warranty of your tracker.

@Gizzo0604 Since this is not a Fitbit accessory we can not guarantee that's going to work I suggest you to contact Support so they can see your options.

Thank you MaginFitbit!  I did so, but no luck!

My first surge needed to be replaced before the warranty expired, and was replaced with 2-3 refurbished surges, none of which worked. I was then sent a new surge (Thank you, Fitbit!) which did work properly. This replacement  surge bubbled and peeled at 6 months, but since the warranty didnot re-start, I was told that the 6 month old replacement is off warranty. I understand the policy, but that policy makes it harder for me ot be loyal to Fitbit, a product I have loved using. I am not rough with the watch at all... I am 56 yrs old and treat it with respect. I have superglued the edges for now as the watch works, but it is not a bit rough and unsightly!

Thanks for following up! I am still stepping away!
