After a few years of using Fitbit, I am just now getting interested to the Calories part of it...
I am a little bit confused as to why my Surge is telling me one calories out number, but when I sync it to the app it changed completely.
The change is fairly significant as this morning I read on my Surge 946 Calories and as soon as I sync it, it went to 310!!!
I am just wondering which one is correct so that I can set up an appropriote goal.
If you know the reason why or if there is something I should be doing... that would be brilliant...

Hi there @SunsetRunner, Good to see you in the Community! 🙂
When it comes to calories, this will change everytime you sync your tracker. This happens because when you don't sync, it's just the automatic calculation (based on your age, weight, height and gender) that will calculate your bmr (basal metabolic rate) and once you sync your tracker, this will take into consideration also your activity so it will now be telling the real calories you've been burning. If you also track your food, you should have a calorie deficit.
A calorie deficit occurs when you've burned more calories than you've consumed in a given day. To achieve a weight loss goal, you should aim for a calorie deficit. If you've set a weight-loss goal you can choose the intensity of your food plan, which will in turn adjust your calorie deficit target.
