Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Rrrucke. It's great to have you here. If you haven't tried it already, please perform a restart to your Surge. This should help to get you back on track. Additionally, it could be a good idea taking a look at this article. It provides an explanation of how Fitbit trackers count floors.
