Surge Heart Rate monitoring completely useless

Hi,

This is my first post here and unfortunately it's not a good one.

I've had my Surge since early January and initially I was impressed. It appeared to work well and was tracking my workouts fine. However, this past month or 2, it's been basically useless.

I regularly do strength resistance training and HIIT workouts. Neither of which appear to be tracked correctly via the heart rate monitor anymore. It's not just that it's a little bit innacurate, I could accept that, it's that the watch will report my heart rate in the 80's and 90's when in actual fact it'll be 180+.

This renders the point of it useless. There's no point in tracking workouts because as far as the watch is concernered, I'm going for a leisurely stroll. I don't expect it to be perfect but it's so far out it's just wrong.

I've read the forums and tried various 'fixes'. I've tried the tracker in different places on the wrist, restarted it etc. All to no avail.

Is there something I'm missing? - What else can I do? At the moment I just feel like getting a refund and getting something else.

Many thanks for any help and advice in advance.

I find mine to be mostly ok.

With weight training it spikes about 30 sec. after i'm done with a set. But it's alright becuase at least it tracks it, although a bit late.

I'm been spinning 3-4 times with it now, and I'm actually amazed that it was almot par with the chest-strap.

Maybe it's a faulty unit. What about measurements when running or cycling, or other training where your HR don't just spike, but is on a more steady climb?

I've tried to use it during spinning (where there's little wrist movement), on elliptical trainers etc but it's all the same. Particlarly one equipment where it records you're heart rate, I can see it's peaking around 180 yet the surge reports it as 90.

Fitbit - what can I do?? I want this to work, but at the moment it's a massive let down.

I think you should contact costumer support, because that really doesn't sound right.
