hey everyone,

just downloaded strava yesterday and originally linked it to MFP then linked it to FitBit. this morning, i walked to work and used the GPS on my Fitbit which automatically synced to Strava. Query i have is, as i have linked both FitBit and Strava to MFP, it is showing up as 2 different exercises. is this normal or am i doing something wrong? i have disconnected the link from Strava to MFP, so only 1 exercise should show up on MFP now, but surely if all 3 apps can be linked it should work with no hiccups?

Does anyone have any suggestions or do i just leave Strava/MFP unlinked?

Thanks

Hi there @Cooky, good to see you around. Its possible if when the exercise in question synced before you removed the link between MFP and Strava. Note when you synced your Fitbit account to Strava both accounts will share information when it met certain criteria, the same goes for Fitbit to MFP.

So if you made an exercise using your Fitbit account this exercise will be share to both of your integrations; in this case Strava and MFP independently. Now if you have associated Strava with MFP, this two will share the same exercise, duplicating your exercise. I'm not sure what type of information shared MFP between Strava, but certainly I can say it will count double your activities.

I've seen some users keep separate this link, as in either way your Fitbit account will share the activity for both of your integrations. Also I've seen other users log food on MFP and restrict the exercise log to Fitbit and when it comes for GPS activities, they use Strava. So if you have integrated MFP with Strava I would recommend to removed the link between these two account and give it a try.

Let me know how it goes, I'll bea round if you need more help.
