I don't know about you but I find the design of the Surge just terrible. I don't know who designer is but he needs to go back to design school. For example: The luminosity is terrible and extremely difficult to read especially in sunny days. The system does not allow brightness adjustment. Now have a look a tthe main screen. What is the most important information you want when you look at the main screen ? most probably the time and a choice of pulse/calories/distance etc... So it is a basic TWO simple pieces of informations. Currently, the time display takes about less than 20% of the screen surface and the other 80% is just wasted on a dotted circular that is supposed to represent the minutes. How about having the most important information taking 70% of the surface! 

 

Now look at the profile of the case and you will see it is trapeze in shape. Has anyoone ever seen a successfull watch with a trapeze profile ? the answer is no and htis is simply because it is not eye pleasing nor ergonomic. I can understant that the techs needed space for the GPS but you can't leave design and fashion to the techies.

Feel free to add your suggestions to the 'Feature Requests' Sub Forum, where users can vote, add comments,.. if there's a certain interest then there's a chance the developers pick it up and it'll be developed.

You can go into your settings and turn the back light on - most of us don't because it chews through battery.
The dots that you are whining about are a representation of your steps per minute, if you're seeing a circle around the time with only one for in each ray, then you need to get up and move.
The shape of the body angles the face slightly towards the wearer, but if you're so unhappy, you should probably just return it and get something different.
