Surge adding 10 miles to distance walked

Twice (a month apart) my Surge has added 10 miles to my distance walked. The steps, calories, minutes, etc... are not affected. What could eb happening and how do I edit to remove the added 10 miles?

Hey @Duudeman welcome to the Community! let me ask you something, are you wearing the tracker while running and then manually entering a workout record? If so, you only need to walk or manually enter your activity. If you would like to delete this extra data, you can follow the steps on "How to delete data".

No. I am simply walking and letting the Fitbit record the steps. I've had it for 15 months and has only happened twice.

Thanks for getting back to me @Duudeman! What if you try to perform a restart of your Surge by following the instructions on @MeylinP post, use it for a few days, and I hope this won't happen again.
