Surge band broke (again)!

My wife's Surge band has broken for the second time. The first time it started tearing away from the screws and Fitbit was kind enough to replace with a new one. Fast forward several months and the replacement has now developed the same issue.

Placed a call to FB customer service and since the original warranty had run out, my wife is now out a FB as well as the money she spent on the original one. This FB was not abused or beat on, I just think it's a design flaw. Two consecutive FB's with the same issue is more than coincidence.

I felt they should have offered her a replacement product such as the FB Blaze since those bands can be replaced. Instead they offered a 25% discount off the Blaze. In turn, they will lose her business as well as mine.

@Hanshans68 If you do a YouTube search for "Surge band replacement" you can decide if it's something you or a friend can do. If it's yes, go to Amazon and search "Surge replacement bands." They cost about $20 USD. Best of luck.

I have read on so many posts that the straps on the Surge break or wear out after a few months, however my Surge that I have had for almost a year has straps that are in perfect condition.

Maybe it's a certain batch that has the strap flaw?

I don't think there is any way for "us" to know but I'm sure FitBit (if they are actually monitoring their Warranty replacements)  does know or could find out. The thing is they're not talking.
