Surge band broke at the clasp.

As a senior citizen I am wondering why my band broke after only about 3 months or so of wearing it. I even took it off to shower so that it wouldn't break. I saved up to buy it and even waited for it to be on "sale" before I leaped and bought it. I am quite frustrated! So, now what do I do?!?
