Surge band coming apart

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My surge band is bubbling and coming off.  I am pretty disappointed as mine was a Xmas gift from my wife and the 4th fit bit for the family, but first Surge.  Like the style, love the app and record my food and input new foods regularly.  I have gotten a half dozen peers to buy Fitbit, but now I am concerned they will experience problems also. Why doesn't Fitbit address this issue with an updated band?  I am looking to switch after several loyal years. Any suggestions on trackers that are similar and wont have issues?

@Widowmaker16 If the Surge is within the warranty period contact Customer Service and request a new one. Yes the replacement will most likely fail in a similar ( or even a different ) manner but you are entitled to a replacement. If the warranty is past, replacement bands are available from Amazon and videos on YouTube show how to do it. Only FitBit can explain why they appear to ignore users complaints of recurring problems (and they're not talking). FYI When my last Surge bites the dust I'm moving on to the Garmin Vivoactive HR. Best of luck!

@Widowmaker16 Do a search in the Surge forum on "band" and "strap". You will find a lot posted on the issue from many people.

Having the same problem.  Called Fitbit and was told that getting a new band is not an option; only option is to buy a new watch.  I paid $250 for my Surge just 18 months ago and now Fitbit says "tough luck dude, go buy a new one and give us more of your money".  Needless to say, Fitbit just lost another customer!  Nice business model, guys.

Hi Yojana, maybe you can explain why Fitbit refuses to address this big issue?  Thanks!

Also got mine at Christmas time and same thing with the band.

I purchased my surge second hard and now have the same issue with the band.  It seems that by reading the reviews I'm SOL but was interested in learning if I have any options.

Amazon has replacement bands for sale.  I got one from a company called Etoper and it seems to work ok.  Here's the link:
