I got my Fitbit Surge as a birthday gift 4 days ago and already had to charge it twice, as for the notifications, I receive no notifications from my paired android device. This is dissapointing but I'd say the battery life is killing me as I do not want to charge my watch every 2nd day with it not even lasting 48hours.

Hi @Haarhoff! Please receive a warm welcome to the Fitbit Family! It's great to see you participating in our Community!
Congrats on your new Surge. I think that your tracker is having some internal issues and is taking more energy as it should. Would you mind restarting your Surge a couple of times and see if this helps. If not please let me know so I can follow up with you.
I'll be waiting for your response!

yeah,... me too ;(
I used my prior fitbit Charge HR religiously for 2 years to the point the case just started to fall apart. I received a new fitbit Surge two days ago as a birthday present and I have had to charge it twice already.

Its better but I am not getting the battery life I expect especially if you take into consideration that this is as good as it gets, as the battery ages its ability to hold charge starts to decline but lets consider this topic closed for now.
I am going to search the community for a correction/fix to the GPS feature. The FitBit GPS distance (under hike program) is only recording 1.46 kilometers distance while both my bike computer and phone app - "map my ride" record the distance traveled as just over 4 kilometers

Hi @wusman! Please receive a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for getting back!
If you aren’t tracking runs or exercises that use GPS, your fully charged Fitbit Surge should last up to 7 days. A fully charged Surge can track up to 10 hours of activities that use GPS. Because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary.
You might try to clean the contacts of your tracker regularly. These contacts can become obstructed by microscopic dirt or debris that prevents them from making a good connection to the charger. Use a toothpick or toothbrush to clean the charging contacts; do not scrape them with anything metal because this may damage the plating and result in corrosion.
We recommend plugging your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or other low-energy device. If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger. Don't use a USB hub or battery pack to charge, and only use the charging cable that came with your tracker. I'd like to know if you're getting the full battery sign after charging your Surge for 3 hours. Have you noticed if your charger is loose or maybe not connecting properly? How are you changing your Surge? How many days are you getting?
About your second inquiry about GPS distance, take in count that if your using your Surge GPS you need to see if it is connecting properly. If the GPS signal is lost, rest assured that your Fitbit tracker or phone continually will search for a GPS signal as long as the exercise is in progress. You might have to take in count that the environment you are in can affect the signal strength of GPS.
For example, if you are running in an urban environment with many tall buildings (as you already know), it may take your Surge tracker several seconds to get a fix. For best results, wait for your Fitbit to find the signal before you start your workout. For more details please add an screenshot of any activity that you might have using GPS.
