Similarly to other users my Surge battery is not lasting the 5 days that it used to last before. My Surge's settings are the same as day 1. To about a week ago it use to last about 4 to5 days (depending on how much I used the stopwatch) before I plugged it in to charge. As in today it lasts about a day. On the second day the battery is completely drained.
I tried to restarting it but that didn't help. I'm looking forward further instructions team fitbit.
Regards,
-MC

Have you synced it after rebooting and charging? If not, please do so, then scroll back in the app to previous days, and keep forcing a sync until the last couple of weeks are fully populated with data, then charge again.
I've just had exactly the same thing happen on my second surge (first replaced) and I think I've finally got to the bottom of what happens.

See, I think that's similar to mine; it didn't sync since the 24th(despite being set for all day sync), battery lifespan collapsed, wouldn't sync until rebooted, took several syncs to clear the data, then took a full charge, and has been fine since then.
I think it somehow gets to a state where the bluetooth radio can't connect, but is on permanently trying to sync, with a lot of data building up in the background.
