Hi all. I'm trying to optimise the battery life on my surge because I'm getting at best around two and a half days before the battery is low. I've disabled notifications. GPS is not used, all day sync is off and back light is auto.
Any suggestions to improve it further. I've never got beyond 3 days never mind the five days quoted by Fitbit.
Thanks.

I have exactly the same issue. Reading through the forum, it seems that this is normal since the last firmware update.
Sorry, I can't give you a solution to this, but the impression I get is that this can only be fixed by Fitbit releasing an update.

5 days and half, from friday 1st noon until wednesday 6th 11:15 pm (shutdown)
notifications off
alarms off
all-day sync off
bluetooth classic off
backlight auto
heart rate auto
quick view gesture off
GPS during 1h15min
firmware version 16.34.5.14

The only difference between yours and my settings is the quick view gesture - so I've turned that off and will see how it goes.
I've often wondered how many ti es the light would turn on when the surge is hidden under my sleeve!

Mine used to do 4-5, now down to no better than 3. I've turned off as much as I can including the quick view feature and never use gps because that kills the battery.
Seems to be some debate as to the cause of this degradation. It may be a firmware update, may be bateries starting to reach end of life (already) or or couse a combination of both.

Thanks Chris, however my surge is only 5 days old, and there's quite a few people who've had new replacements that are just as bad. Let's hope the fitbit team are reading all of these posts!

Notifications won't work on mine so it only syncs when the app is open. I've turned the 'all day sync' option off.

Followed these options and got 3 days including about 3.5 hours using gps. Not bad I suppose - certainly much better than my phone!

2nd trial
same conditions, no GPS used : nearly 6 days
the Fitbit assertion for 7 days is overestimated.
maybe without syncing

I hope you're doing great @Krissyton @SunsetRunner! Allow me to help, you can also try doing the restart then let the battery drain and fully charge it, I would like to share this article with you, hope it helps.
Let me know how it goes!

Hi , I saw that you say fully charge, how long is that as Im charging over night and still only getting a day maybe 2 at a push, so would consider the full drain and recharge option
