Surge did not auto-track my last walk

Yes, smart-track seems to work much of the time. For instance, it tracked an earlier heavy-duty gardening session (put it down as "sport" for a half-hour).

This evening I did a 1h10m relaxed walk, of about 5km. I'm not pushing it hard, it's hot and humid and the sweat is coming out naturally. Smart Track didn't record it.

Now, I could log it manually - however, Smart Track is supposed to manage it automatically. (Since Smart Track came along I have gotten out of the habit of using the tracking via buttons because the GPS tracking sucks the battery dry in short order. It's a pain in the ass to have to recharge every night and I like being able to track my sleep.)

What is the problem with my Surge? Please tell me that I didn't spend $350 on a glorified bloody step-counter with cheapo $10 watch attachment.

Interesting. All of a sudden it *has* auto-tracked my walk from this morning. And, after leaving the fitbit app running for 10-15 minutes, my lunchtime walk has been tracked also.

I will do an evening walk and check what happens.

I have some more testing to do - synching then closing the app - we will see if the issue has been sorted in the background.
