Surge doesnt charge unless I wiggle the the plug where in plugs into Surge. Gets worse daily

I think my Surge is dirty or clogged.  It gets harder and harder to get it to connect and charge.  The problem is were the surge itself connects to the charger.  Tips on cleaning?

My Surge is 2 years old and now in order to charge it, I must hold the plug in place and hold it "just so".  If I let go....it stops charging.  Bad design for charging.....I am so disappointed!
