Surge exercise modes?

Can someone tell me which "modes" (hiking, running, martial arts, elliptical., etc) use GPS and which don't?  Sometimes I'd like to monitor my steps/heartrate during an activity, but not burn up my battery with GPS tracking.

I am really loving my Surge!  Got it as a Valentine's Day gift and the badges really inspire me to move.  I was 4 floors away from 200 the other day and just walked up and down the steps in my home to make it to 200!  I also love the inspiration to do 250 steps a minute.  When I'm at the office, I'll go up and down the warehouse steps to get my 250, may as well make it a little challenge rather than walking back and forth to the copier and doing laps around the conference room, right?  🙂

Hi there @HikerMD, Thanks for popping by the forums! Thanks a million @Julia_G, for the help! Heart

@HikerMD You might use the option "Workout" in your Surge Shortcuts. It will give you all the stats including HR without using the GPS option. And if you want to name the activity, you can sync it and edit your workout. To edit go to the Fitbit App > Track exercise tile > Tap on Workout > Tap on upper right corner > Tap on stopwatch and name your activity.

I hope you continue enjoying your Fitbit Surge. Feel free to post back in case that you need anything else or if you just want to exchange thoughts about your experience you can go to our Discussions board, in case that you haven't.
