Instead of combing through hours of previous posts & replies, I'm just going to state my issue & hope there is an easy resolution.
I have programmed my surge to include an elliptical workout & a boot camp workout. Here's the problems I am experiencing:
Bootcamp- in two sessions, surge claimed I only burned 124 & 136. (Prior to my surge purchase, I used a polar chest strap & watch, and most boot camps I burned 350+.) Also, my active minutes were recorded at 20 min or less, when bootcamp is 50+ minutes.
Elliptical- 30 minutes on here, and only 15 min active?! And 0 floors? Makes no sense.
Finally- I'm not wearing my surge today, it is miles away from me, and according to my dashboard, I've burned 830 calories so far today...um, ok? Clearly this is not operating correctly!
How can I get this to track my time, steps, floors, heart rate & floors (ya know, do what this is supposed to do?) correctly?

@Tidebird14 depending how your bootcamp is structured could be the reason you are not getting as many calories/active minutes. Fitbit products are not accurate with short high intensity exercises, they are designed for steady-state cardio (running, walking).
As for the elliptical - you will never get floors on a machine, you haven't actually climbed any distance, you stay at the same elevation the whole time. Fitbit's use an altimeter to estimate the # of floors you have climbed. As for the active minutes on that machine as long as your hands are constantly moving it should accurately pick up active minutes, however the arm motion on an elliptical is not the same as your arm swing when walking/running so that could account for the lower #s.
Finally, the 830 calories burned while not wearing the tracker is accurate. Fitbit calculates not only the calories you burn from walking around and exercise but also your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which are the calories your body burns just being alive (breathing, organ function, etc.) For more information on Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR).
