Is there a way to make the surge let me know when a certain amount of miles have been riden when on a bike? like when you get 10000 steps it vibrates can it be done the same way with for example every 8 miles of a bike ride?

I'm looking for the same thing. Is there a way to predetermine a distance to run. Ex. if I want to run 3k, I'd like the Fitbit to stop the sessione when I've run the 3k. This way it's easier to compare best time etc.

Best time for three kilometers? Heck, I'm not even warmed up after only three clicks let alone trying to register a time versus previous runs.

Well, that' good for you.
But I don't see what your answar has to do in this discussion? Yeah, we get the point that you are a teriffic runner (good for you, again), and that you are kind of a troll.
If I'd said that the predeterminded distance i wanted to run was 300 "clicks" - would you have any other constructive input on this matter?

Hi everyone! Let's keep this conversation friendly and courteous, the purpose of this thread is to help each other. Please remember our Community Guidelines.
Let's consider the following: the Fitbit trackers don't really track distance; they track steps. These steps are used to calculate distance in addition to the stride length that is set on your Fitbit Dashboard.
Our friends over at Strava have the capacity to track and log exercises using GPS. You can link this 3rd party app with your Fitbit account so you can have your biking activity tracked with accurate distance. Take a look at this help article which will help you to get your Fitbit account connected with Strava.
If more questions arise, let me know my friends and I'll be around!

Uhhh, Juan, you do know this is a thread about the Fitbit Surge don't you? While you are correct in that all Fitbit trackers track steps, when in Free Run mode, the Surge also tracks distance.

Hi there everyone and thank you for the annotation about the distance @shipo. I'm sure my friend @JuanJoFitbit's intentions was not to create confusion. You are right the Fitbit Surge can give you distance as long you use the GPS feature. Between us he is more Alta user now
Going back to main subject on this topic I would like to clarify there is not specifically something that automatically stop the session, but you can use either Lap Run or Free Run. With this options your tracker not necessarily will stop the session but it will vibrate when you have achieved one mile or kilometer, letting you know the pace of that distance in particular. Once you synced you will have your splits with more details information.
Hope this helps and stay awesome fellows.
