Surge not counting steos/kilometers accurately

My fitbit is **ahem**bit. It does not accurately count my steps or distance. It's almost discouraging!!! Fitbit ppl have a lot to answer for. I have a zip and a surge and they can be 1,500/2,000 steps different on a walk. This morning I did 187 min walk. Fitbit surge told me 17,700 steps and 11.7 km. Very inaccurate as distance surrounding gold course and walking 3 suburbs away and back is equal to 13km on a direct route and we take the long way. The zip gives me a better reading ($70 vs $330!) I'm thinking about making a formal complaint to consumer affairs. Anyone else having these problems??

@Emilygjj Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Try to restart your Surge first. Then, make sure to adjust your stride length. That will make the distance tracked with your Surge more accurate. Also, take a look at the dominant hand setting (check the last section on that article). Your tracker should be accurate after doing all of that.

Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy
