All of a sudden (approx two weeks ago) my Surge stopped to "hold" charge. Battery drains so fast I have to charge every second day.
Until than one battery charge would typically last 4-5 days - charge during weekend and repeat thursday/ friday depending of GPS use.
Typically I leave it to charge for a few hours (1-3hours) until the lightning bolt AND my dashboard states it's fully charged.
I am using it 24/7 as a activity and sleep tracker exept every second day I track a Free run approx 45 min duration.
I charged it yesterday till it was fully charged. Took it on a 'free run' this morning for approx 45 min. Now after 24 hours it is back to medium charge.
I am aware that it usually will last for an extra day after you receive the empty battery email, but I don't want to rely on that so I typically charge when the email arrives.
Have reset it several times for no avail.
This bavavior started all of a sudden as I said. I don't think we have got any FW or app updates for the last 2-3 weeks either
Any one else experiencing their Surge (or Fitbit) not holding charge?

I have given up on the Fitbit products, my purchase will be the Garmin 935. It does everything I want in a sports watch. A little pricey but Garmin is a known quality so I'm giving them a try. It's too bad that $250 lasted me 14 months and it appears by all accounts, these issues are built into the Fitbit surge. They won't get my $$$ again.

I have restarted mine several times and it only holds a charge for a day and a half. This behavior started two weeks ago. Normally it only needed charging once every 5 or 6 days. This is terrible.

I had the exact same issues with my Surge until I tried restarting it one day (press and hold home and bottom left button until the screen starts fading). Battery life went back to normal and also fixed intermittent syncing issues. I strongly suggest you try this, it may work for you.

I got the same deal as did many other people posting. 25% off of their online site is spitting in the wind. Also, why would I want another product that seemed to be programmed in to fail just after the warranty? Not a chance. They may have had a chance with a 50% off rebate for this failure but it's not part of their profit plan, it was to have repeat purchases and I'm not falling into that trap!

Earlier I also had same issue with my Surge.
I observed that when I sync with my phone Surge discharges in 2 days.
I tried turning off bluetooth on my phone. My Surge battery started running for 4 days. It seems that the Fitbit Android application is bugged causing heavy battery drain.
Now I am syncing with a computer.
There are few new features which are integrated already available in Fitbit application but it is disabled for Surge owner. Please find details on https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Surge-update-is-highly-due/idi-p/2042199 and provided your precious vote.

This has just started in the last few days with the Surge that I got in October. I'm lucky to get a full day out of a charge, it doesn't sync with the iPhone app unless I restart the Surge, and it doesn't even connect with the iPhone unless I restart the Surge (which means I don't get any notifications).

@page2171 follow these steps, these worked for me
1. Turn off your surge wait for 2-3 minutes
2. Turn off All day sync in your application settings.
3. Turn on your Surge and sync
4. Turn off your Surge wait for 2-3 minutes
5. Turn on All day sync in your application settings.

I was sent a replacement surge. The home button doesn't work. It doesn't hold a charge after a day and a half. I'm very dissatisfied. I put them both in the electronic junk drawer and quit trying. I'm looking at Garmin.

I'm on my third product from Fitbit. I love the company but I, too, started experiencing the above issue regarding my Surge not holding a charge. I've had this Surge over a year, and I'm lucky if I get a full days charge. I'm going to try some of the suggestions and repost.
Stayed tuned...

My husband and I both bought our original surges 2 years ago- at around the 9 month mark on the originals both started to have trouble retaining charge, the straps started to fail, the charging cables became difficult to retain on the back of the watch, and then one after another they both died. We called support, we were within the one year warranty, and they replaced both without problem- but they also told us that the replacement watches would carry no warranty after that original 1 year period. Sure enough, we are now 7 months in on the new watches, the batteries are draining super fast, the straps are failing, and the charging cables no longer connect well to the rear of the watch. Oh, and condensation issues, and one screen has stopped swiping. So, the take home seems to be that you can only anticipate getting max 2 years of use out of each watch purchase if you use the warranty coverage. Which is a shame- I love the function, but no longevity apparently.
