I have a new surge tried to use the windows 10 app with cable connected to pc and usb in for initial setup.  Get to download update for surge and fails in the download.  have reset the watch several times with the two button reset.  This is frustrating.  I have also tried to get it to download through Iphone but get to where it says "Firmware busy"  as an error.

I have resolved the issue.  Tips for others with Surge issues.

I could not use the Windows 10 software as it would not get past the setup screen or would break connection in the start of download.

I used my Iphone but first had to remove all previous Fitbit equipment from its connect software.  If you have any previous Fitbits still on it then I believe that is why I got the firmware unable to update system busy message.  I then restarted both phone and Fitbit (dont know if it helped, just what I did; you can tell too many IT people in my life with us now trained to reboot on whatever the item is).

I then had to attempt to start configuration twice but second time the connection stayed and completed update and configuration.

So this took about 2 1/2 hours of my time.
