Surge when cycling

Hi, I'm not an experienced FitBit user and have a Fitbit Surge for GPS tracking. when cycling my Fitbit keeps on stopping the tracking because my wrist angle on the handlebars is pressing engaging the fitbit surge buttons. I don't want to change the location or wrist position so does anyone know if i can override the tracking so it stays on and doesn't accidentally stop tracking?

thanks

Welcome to the forums!

There is no way to override it so it stays on. Sorry.

Are you sure it's YOU that is pressing the start/stop button?  My surge is doing the same thing while mountain biking.  I really don't think my wrist can bend backwards enough to activate the button or even if my cycling glove is rigid enough.  I think it may be the jostling that is triggering it.  Comments?

Hi yes its defo me! I wear my watches and fitbit very close to my wrist so when I bend my wrist cycling it catches the button...... may have to move it up my arm slightly and see if it still accurately captures the heart rate data......

will start using my strava account as a back up failsafe!

cheers

I've had the same problem, especially since I wear bike gloves.  I've got around it and it gives me the data I need plus some of the steps I'm not getting by wearing it on my ankle. You'll see BPM and such and you won't be turning it off!  Smiley Happy
