I have used the chat to fix this problem over the last 2 months twice and it is still not fixed. They sent me a new one which will also not sync or download the software. A month ago I was told they were sending me a new Surge I have not heard anything from Fit Bit.

For the computer have you downloaded the software it needs?

If you do not have windows 10 then you need a dongle plugged into a USB port for it to sync.
For your Phone is it on the supported list?
