Surge won't sync, have to charge battery everyday!

This is my second Surge in less than a year!
The first one was replaced after a few months because it wouldn't sync, and the battery was drained in less than a day. After about 4 frustrating calls to customer service, they agreed to replace the device. They kept telling me to sync the device. It wouldn't sync, that's why I called them, and they were no help.
So this Surge is about 6 months old, and now I can't get it to sync, and I have to charge the battery EVERY day, even if I am not using the GPS. It also is tracking activities that I never initiated, like walks and outdoor bike rides!
I am terribly disappointed by this device. My wife bought it for me because I was training for a marathon.
I would NEVER recommend this device, and laugh every time I see a Fitbit commercial on TV.
Any help is appreciated.

Search battery issues, many are having the same problem.  Contact Fitbit, they should send a replacement, which may or may not work.  Sorry - it's a problem they really need to get fixed.

Hello @shelbean91 and @Dennis1003! You can try to clean the contacts of your Surge tracker. Over the time the contacts may get some dirt or debris that may cause some interference between the tracker and the charging cable. We recommend using a toothpick or toothbrush to clean the charging contacts. Avoid scratching. If after doing this, I recommend contacting Support, I'm pretty sure they'll take care of you.

Keep me posted!

This is months old, but the issue was syncing with the app.  Not contacts or how it was plugged in.  Thanks for replying, though.

Hello @shelbean91! You can find the metal contacts on the back of your Surge's display. Here is a picture!

I understand that.  However, that's not the issue.  It's an issue with the app.

Sorry for the misunderstanding @shelbean91! And you're right contacting Support, is the best option at this point.
