Surge wont connect to android

my mother just got me a fitbit surge as i have started working out and i cannot get it to connect it was a second hand one i think and it wont pair to my phone when i click add a device it just constantly searches

As you mentioned that this is a second hand tracker there are some things we have to check. Please confirm that your Surge is charging correctly, you can follow these suggestions. Then check if your phone is compatible with Fitbit, you will find the list here. And finally double check the steps you're performing while setting up your tracker, you might try to restart your Surge if this is not connecting.

 

If you're we're able to connect it and it is been shown on the Bluetooth settings on you phone but still it is not syncing these steps might work for you. As we don't have to much information about the previous owner we need to cover the basic but I hope you can get it to connect.
