Syncing with Life Fitness Equipment

Hi, at the gym the other day I happened to notice their Life Fitness equipment is compatible with Fitbit & my activities on those machines would sync with my Surge. So far I've been unable to do this. Is there a step I've missed along the way to make this happen? Thanks

Just to clarify I did download the LifeFitness app and set up an account.

Did you have any luck getting an answer? I'm going to try and sync mine at the gym tomorrow.

From the website, it looks like a standard link from their server to the Fitbit server, the same way that Fitbit integrates with any external system. Nothing actually syncs between the equipment and your Surge, which doesn't surprise me, but the data associated with your workout should get pushed to your Fitbit account so that the next time you sync the Surge the workout data will suppress whatever your Surge tracked for the appropriate period of time and your totals will be adjusted accordingly.

What happens when you try it?

I haven't tried it myself, it appears that the steps for cardio machines is:

Initial setup

- install LFconnect app on your phone

- register for an account

- go to LFconnect.com website and enable Fitbit integration

At gym

- launch app on your phone

- using usb charging cable, connect phone to cardio machine

- workout

- save workout

Behind the scenes the LFconnect app will upload to lfconnect.com website, and that website will send workout data to Fitbit. The workout will either contribute to all-day stats (like Strava-to-Fitbit integration), or possibly create an activity.

Again I haven't tried it myself, but I am an engineer familiar with Fitbit and how to integrate 3rd party apps with Fitbit.

Hope that helps, please report back either success or failure.
