WHY am I being asked to enter my twitter-account details before I can get chatsupport.
I dont have a twitter account. I dont want a twitteraccount.
Is this fitbits idea of a joke?

That sounds weird. The last time I used chat support it only asked for an email address and there certainly wasn't a requirement to have a twitter account.
Any chance of a screenshot so we might be able to see what's happening?
