The Surge band must be deffective

Hello,

I have had my Surge for under 6 months with light to moderate use.  I am relatively inactive overall, only taking 5-7 walks per week and remove my Surge probably once or twice a day for a little bit to let my wrist breathe.  It has endured zero actual abuse or rugged handling.  In any case, as you can see from the following pic, my band has broken at the screws from my light use over a short period of time.

Surge Band Broken

I can not be the only person that has had this specific problem, because this clearly appears to me to be a design flaw that resulted in a structural integrity issue.  I'm not entirely sure what is the correct approach to address this or who is the ideal POC to discuss this with further?

Thanks in advance for help or advice, and please chime in if the band of your Surge is in a similar state.  It would be nice to have some idea of how widespread this issue with the band actually is.

As you will still be within warranty you could contact customer support using the following link to discuss a replacement:

My band has broken in the same way, I've had it since March last year, so I'm assuming it's out of warranty? I have contacted Support, but no reply.

I have exactly the same issue. Band broken at the inner side in the area of the screws. I also bought my Surge in March of last year. I did drop an email to Fitbit Support today.IMG_1010.JPG

Your are not alone. I've had my Surge since January and the picture depicted here looks just like my watch. It still works but I think you spotted a design flaw in the wristband.

Hi,

I have the exact same problem after about 6 months.

Dropped an e-mail to contact support.

I wonder what they'll do about it.

I'm on my second. In Fitbits favour they replaced it with no problem. If any of you are in the EU its a two year warranty. If you are out of warranty its a 25% discount on a replacement...not so good as in the UK you can buy one for £158.

Clearly a design problem as these threads are full of similar stories, hopefully Surge 2 will be around soon.

Same thing happened to mine.  I called and they sent me out a replacement.
