Time for a new Surge!

Got my Fitbit Surge almost 2 years ago and absolutely loved it!  Love it still but seems like now, 2 years later, the competition has scooped Fitbit, big time!! e.g. the vivoactive HR, the TomTom Spark 3.

Examples:

- battery life (vivoactive can go 3 weeks if no GPS!!)

- can't track cadence???

- i can see elevation gain at the end of a run on the device but nowhere in the app

- interval running (run/walk)

- swimming

- sync slow as molasses

Please tell me there is a new surge about to be released!  I love the fitbit but these features are sorely missing!

As I'm sure you know, the first we'll likely hear of. New tracker release is the release announcement o day one. I've never yet seen the company release plans ahead of their implementation.

Nothing at CES this year

Personally I think the Surge is Fitbits Curates Egg. Fitbit are a tracking company but the Surge is trying to appeal more to athletes, and in that space you have competition like the Vivoactive HR and Tom Tom and of course my absolute favourite the Fenix 3 HR (version 5 this year).

That market is absolutely bleeding edge. Very cut throat.
So I do not know... maybe an update on the Surge firmware, but a Surge 2, to compete in that market? I do not see it personally. I too am happy with my Surge but as my fitness increases I am aiming for my first Tri this year, so it might just be time to look elsewhere. It will be a sad day because my Surge has helped me get fit and lose weight. But things change.
