I love my Surge. However, I see my friends getting updates on other models of Fitbit. Their models are being updated to do things that the Surge (the supposed Cadillac model) does not do. I am beginning to believe the rumors that the Surge is being phased out. It may be time to make the switch to Apple. Sorry Fitbit.

I dunno about Apple, but the new Polars are looking good about now!

The Surge is the black sheep product of Fitbit that they would rather everyone forget about. Fitbit is working on a new smart watch that is supposed to be out in a few months. I'm not sure who they are targeting with the new smart watch but they are throwing away a lot potential buyers by treating Surge owners so poorly. The lack of updates, perpetual sync problems and no remedy in sight for the defective bands has me convinced this is my last Fitbit product.

And to make it worse, I just bought the dang thing about 4-5 months ago. I called them regarding the problem. I explained the rumors going around about them phasing out the Surge. Of course they have no idea what I'm talking about. They just keep saying to post update suggestions to the forum. Seems to be their answer for everything. Either way, my concerns seem to fall on deaf ears.

I'll have to look at them. Apple seems to be the logical choice if you own an iphone due to the inner brand integration.

Hi @Cajunseo, @TwoBit and @TXAnneV! Thanks for time you took to express your concerns about Fitbit Surge.
Fitbit is always trying to give users the best options and features for each model of the Fitbit trackers, I know that it's been a while since Fitbit Surge received the last update; but it doesn't mean that we don't pay attention to your comments. I apologize if you feel that way! Our Discussion board was designed to help us to gather all user requests. Some ideas are more popular than others but we check each one of them.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, we don't have any information about this at this moment, but as soon as we receive updates in regards Fitbit Surge; we'll let you know. We wouldn't like to see go to a different direction, but as we posted before we need to wait until we get new information.
Once again thanks for your participation!
