Traveling and surge does not automatically reset to correct time.

Is the device you are syncing with showing the correct time?

 

You can also temporarily change your time zone here. I usually do that when I go away and then change it back later.

Works just fine if I reset as you suggest. Would think it would sync with the iPhone that it is connected to.
