Treadmill registers over a mile more

Every time I wear my Fitbit and run on the treadmill, and I go 5 miles or more, the more I run, the worse the discrepancy. Today the treadmill said 9 miles, Fitbit said 7.5. I entered manually what the treadmill said and my leaderboard shows over 3k less steps than what is actually true.

Welcome @Stepobsessed, good to see you in our Community.  Well in this case note that your tracker is not working with GPS, because the Treadmill run does not use this function, so it means will calculate distance by multiplying your walking steps and walking stride length and not necessarily will match the distance of your treadmill machine.

Now with that thought in mind, if you are holding the side bar of the machine, note that it may loose some steps and by consequence your distance will drop. I'm pretty sure you have updated your stride length, so at least from this side I don't believe you have troubles.

With the leaderboard note that manual activities does not count for this, so that's the reason you are seeing less steps.

Hope this helps and let me know how it goes.
