Unable to connect my fitbit surge to my samsung S4 anymore.

I have been using my Fitbit Surge for two years, syncing it to my Samsung S4, but on 22nd of May I was not able to sync anymore. I tried restarting Bluetooth, restarting the phone and restarting my watch, but was still not able to sync. I logged out of my Fitbit app on the phone and tried to log back in, but I couldn't get in. I have uninstalled my app on the phone  and reinstalled, but I am still not able to get in as the message displays "fitbit.com is down for maintenance".

I am able to log onto the Fitbit web page using my PC, but unfortunately I am not able to sync with this either as my PC does not have Bluetooth. I understand that both my phone and Fitbit devices are old, but up until yesterday I was not having any issues with them, so am quite frustrated.

Still unable to connect to fitbit app. Have uninstalled and re-installed multiple times but just get the following error:
