Very unrealistic calorie count in morning

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My surge has been fine for ages but has suddenly started giving me to many calories. Originally when I wake up I have 500 calories which is about right, but lately I have 2500ish when I wake up. I don't generally wear my watch while sleeping. Its also showing as being active while its just sitting on the sideboard.

Thanks for joining this family, hope you like what find here @banjolilywhiteCat Happy

It's very odd you're getting more calories than usual when you're not wearing your Surge. Usually you just get the calories that are coming from your Fitbit Account since it uses your basal metabolic rate (BMR) to generate calories everyday, even when you don't wear it. Where do you put your Surge at night? Are you getting steps too? Are you manually logging activities? Robot Embarassed

It might be that your Surge is sensing movement or vibration at night and that's why you're getting information. Why don't you try to "Shut down" your Surge at night. It might help!

Hi

Have tried shutting it down/restarting ect.

This morning it shows as 2500 calories on wake up with no steps taken or floors climbed. on the dashboard it also shows as this. However when I go into the calories it shows a more realist 513 calories???

Hi @banjolilywhite! Thanks for confirming what you've tried already. Not sure about what is happening! Cat Frustrated

I'd like to know where you put your tracker at night, to see if there is any chance that it might be getting the vibration of the TV or any other device. Is it near to the AC? I'd like to check with you in the PC  using  the Fitbit.com Dashboard, your stats for those days. Once you've logged in into your Fitbit Account, tap on "Log" > "Activities" and let's check at what time are those steps and floors are being recorded.

If you can add a screenshot of your findings, that'd be great! Smiley Wink

I'd recommend restarting your Surge in case it is having hardware issues!
