I'm concerned about the warranty of this product. Fitbit concept, community and app are great, but the quality of the watch itself is very poor. Less then two months of use and the bands start to crack near the screws, as one can see bellow.
So can I expect from Fitbit? Sending a new unit until the warranty is finished and after that I will keep a bogus watch?
I'm really fond of fitbit and it's letting me motivated, but I'm really worried about this issue.

I understand how you feel. I love the fitbit app and as my wife uses a Charge HR too it has been good to see comparisons and it is a motivator to do that bit more. I push a little harder when cycling I seem to walk a little more (but that could just be work related as I am on my feet all day anyway) but it is good. When I first saw the strap breaking up I let Fitbit know but as it was still usable and the offer was not a replacement but a refund and I would be able to buy a new one. I decided to look at my options. I wore the Surge a little less and used it when I was doing something or if I had a clear day working so I could just try and use it. But now at less than 3 months in I feel now I am almost losing the reason I got it. The strap is now peeling away more and I sort of wanted to use it until it broke to see what it would do. ( I work in composites so the materials is it made from and the adhesives they may use are interesting to me.) The strap is peeling away cleanly so the strap has very good self release properties (bad for Fitbit but good to know as it narrows down what the actual material the strap is made from) so now I know regardless of what I do the odds are any Surge I have will do the same.
I would contact Fitbit and tell them of your issue and request either a full refund or a replacement again and sell it..
I was hoping Fitbit would launch a Blaze with GPS as the Surge is now a year old and in technology lifetimes it is old and due to be replaced. But I was told to expect nothing this year and the Blaze is as good as it will get. I did not want a linked GPS device as mountain biking could kill an expensive smart phone and buying a cheaper phone with GPS just to use the Blaze is added cost when I can go and buy another brand's product and get the features I want without the failing strap. It just means I lose the app and comparisons with my wifes account too..
The strap started to break up after 2 months and now just under 3 months from new it has serious delamination.
It is now peeling back cleanly with no adhesive stuck to the strap material. As I have to cut the strap off for my refund I decided to wear it until it either fell off or got to the point I stopped wearing it.. I want to see how much of the strap is actually bonded or if the adhesive stays attached to the strap material.

Thank you for your reply. I'm comparing with my girlfriend's account and totally understand your frustration.
As a professional on composite materials, would you advice some glue or another material that could fix this issue?
As it seems the material has similar properties to silicone there are very limited adhesives that will work at all. Superglue (cyanoacrylate) will not last more than a few days and would be very brittle when it fully dries. Silicone based materials are used in composites for their easy release from all of the resins likely to be used. Usually a silicone based material is bonded with another form of silicone at quite high temperatures. Any glue would only be a very short term fix and may attack the plastic body of the watch making any warranty invalid too.
