I'm in Wales and we get a lot of rain. Was wondering if it's ok to wearing when running in wet weather or when showering.

Hello @alysonattawar,

Welcome to the community!

As per their description:

"Fitbit Surge has been tested up to 5 ATM meaning it is sweat, rain and splash proof. However, the device is not swim proof. We also recommend taking Fitbit Surge off before showering because, as with any wearable device, it’s best for your skin if the band stays dry and clean."

I hope this helps.

They don't recommend your wearing it in the shower, but that's mostly because it's then more likely to irritate your skin.

I live in a literal temperate rain forest (Victoria, Canada) and wear it running and cycling daily. It rains here a lot. It's raining right now and I just rode 15km and ran 5km getting nice and soaked. I've had zero issues, happily.

Hello there guys! Thank you for your participation in the Community. You can wear your Fitbit trackers it is raining and even during the  sweatiest workout, since they are water-resistant.

We don't recommend swimming with your trackers. Whenever you get your tracker wet, dry it carefully before putting it back on.

Hi Vivian,

Monday I wore my firtbit surge in the rain for a run (CB). It wasn't downpouring, just a lite drizzle. Today the screen is fogged up and I can no longer swipe to see steps, stairs etc. It still counts steps, which I can see on my phone. I can send a photo of the screen if it would help.

It is less than 1 year old and I use it EVERY day 😞

Thanks

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,

I had the same problem with my Surge a while back which I reported in an earlier thread.  It's happened a couple more times since then, but fortunately, after 8-24 hours, the condensation does evaporate and then the touch screen will start working again.  One thing I found is that running with it in the rain with a short-sleave shirt typically isn't a problem, but it's when I have a long sleeve shirt or jacket on that covers that watch and creates water vapor that gets into the watch and causes problems.  Hopefully this flaw will be fixed at some point, but until then, letting it dry out with likely fix the problem and functionality should be back to normal soon.
