We haven't received updates since November 2015. We still haven't got the activity reminders (though you could argue that people who buy this shouldn't need it) or calender or email notifications. Syncing is still extremely buggy.
We did pay almost twice the amount as compared to a Blaze! Even without the flagship color display, are these updates too much to ask for? The blaze already has them, heck - even the Alta has activity reminders. These aren't even new features - we'd just like to see them on the surge while they already exist on other devices.
Is it even worth hoping for these features in updates? Or is the Surge being killed off?

i second this. Updates would be nice!!
But maybe Fitbit are thinking of keeping Blaze as they're smartwatch and killing off the Surge.
I would have got the Blaze if it had the GPS like the Surge

Nice to see you here @CoD! I'm glad to read your comment @fletchmumma! I've found several comments in regards to updates for Fitbit surge, it's right we haven't receive any information about the next update and it's being a while since the last one, but as I said before this not necessarily means that Fitbit doesn't love the Fitbit Surge. I you compare Surge with Blaze, you will see that Blaze is basically one of the newest trackers, so it has been necessary to send some updates for that one.
I'd advise to stay tuned, until we receive more information from our team, to see what is next.
Have a good!

I posted a similar question six months ago and got a standard "We're working on it" response. So I'm posting again.
For a watch that cost upwards of $250, is it really too much for us to expect basic feature updates? The blaze has got new clock faces, activity alerts and bug fixes and we've got ... nothing.
If Fitbit is no longer supporting the Surge, I think we can expect at least an official announcement confirming it's death. My GPS is inaccurate. I need to restart regularly before a sync. The auto heart rate never works (it always stays on). This watch cost all of us on this forum a kidney, Fitbit. While we understand that a watch made for actual athletes may not need 'Reminders to move', bug fixes aren't too much of an expectation. Right?
Thanks.

This is my biggest dissatisfaction with Fitbit as a company. We migrated to the new products each time a new release was announced up to the Surge. Every instance I hoped that loyalty would be worth something. The Blaze we purchased my son stopped working, the replacement literally fell apart and CS would not support a replacement. I expected a superior product when I purchased the Surge unit. Had a difficult time syncing & the firmware was and still is very basic , buggy and very poor. Syncing still is a 50/50 shot and there have been none zero updates. Now to find out they literally abandoned the product after I doled out the full price money. Seems like flea market tactics rather than a public company trying to keep a loyal customer. Apple can do it with their superior quality and brand. Fitbit is nowhere near this level in quality. Offer me the next product as a loyal customer for a 75% loyality discount. Promise the support and quality and I'm good. Im no longer thumping the Fitbit product. Also forget the scale. The scale software is just as bad. Why did I even bother to buy it....
