Hello all!
I just purchased the Surge but I hevent been able to see whatsapp or email notification (only telephone and SMS). Considering that now days hardly anyone uses SMS text, I feel misled being that by “text notifications” I was expecting Whatsapp and emails and to tell you the truth, the smart capabilities were one of the main reasons I purchase the watch.
Are you planning to update the notification capabilities in the near future? When?

The website says "call and text". Most of my friends still use SMS the most (none of use Whatsapp), but I do understand others use more. To call a Surge a "smart watch" is not accurate - it is a fitness tracker that has other features. It looks like a true smart watch (Apple watch) does what you want but costs at least $100 more (saw some "regular" Apple watches on their website for over $1000!). Hope that helps!

Actually it does not! Several gadgets on the same price range include the function that I am questioning (at least Whatsapp) and I guess that is why many people in this forum have question the same thing and I believe that “text notification” it is inaccurate. Even though I appreciate the answer, the reason why it was not helpful at all is because it didn’t answer the questions asked (whether they are planning to update the notification capabilities in the near future?)

In the Watchapp under notifications, you can make the watch mirror your iPhone notifications with that little toggle next to the WhatsApp list entry. Apple Watch does show your Whatsapp notifications, but probably doesn't do all the things you want it to do.
I recommend you vote for a post such as this - the more votes, the more likely they are to work on it. There are several low vote Whatsapp posts if you don't like this broad one.
Good luck in your device hunt - there are many out there, not one is perfect (and I bet there never will be a perfect one).
