Where can I recycle it? It's not working!

It says I walked nearly 10 miles today and over 22,000 steps. I've only worn it for 2 hours and in reality probably only walked about 3 miles. I'm tired of fighting with it. I'm tired of trying to get it to sync. I'm tired of struggling to get the cable "just so" so that it might actually charge. I'm tired of hoping it will stay charged long enough with GPS on to finish my 5k run. I'm tired of shutting it down and restarting it repeatedly. I can't even use it as a watch because it won't keep the correct time.

Its really not that hard. Relax how long have you had it?

Did you set your stride?

https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/How-do-I-measure-and-adjust-my-stride-length/

Why do you need it to sync if you only wore it 2 hours?

It should finish a 5k Run with no problem.

Have you asked for help at all?

The Manual is here and can help a lot to understand your device

Let us help but we cant when you dont ask for it

I don't need help. All the "help" I ever get is "restart it". I'm asking if and where I can recycle this thing. I've had the Surge for less than 2 years and for the last six months it has been completely useless. I know how to work the Surge. The problem is the Surge doesn't work.

Hi there!

I'm also in the same boat of giving up on the Surge. Got sick and tired of fighting with the Surge for the last few months. Things have gotten worse recently with:

  1. Loosing sync with the iPhone 6 plus with the recent app up-date;
  2. The touch screen is no longer working and can't get access to using the GPS for run/bike;
  3. The back light no longer working;
  4. Battery life cut at least in half to around 2 days, compared to the usual 5 days. Activities remained the same, so can't say things are different then before; and
  5. Condensation below the screen making it next to illegible to read date/time and stats.

I've now down graded from the Surge to the Charge 2. Discovered that the Charge 2 has the same features as the Surge, apart from:

  • GPS. This can be overcome by using a mobile device and an arm band. A few more steps are needed before a run/bike, but doable.
  • Always on screen. The Charge 2 needs to be tapped/flicked across to light up the screen for checking date/time and stats. Not so good in direct sunlight, but okay in most other lighting conditions.

Had a look at the competition, but the price on the Charge 2 was too good to pass up on. The best part is that the Charge 2 simply works and I'm no longer fighting with the device compared to the Surge. Smiley Happy

It's E-Waste (has a battery in it). Leave it at a battery store or something like that. Don't throw it in recycling.

If you've had it short time, i'd be happy to have it shipped to me along with purchase date and info so i can call service and get a new one. So far they've been awesome to deal with.
