White residue on Surge band after swimming

I have a fitbit surge, and since I started swimming with it there is a white residue on the black band. Tried washing with soap to no avail.

Any suggestions?

My suggestion would be to stop swimming with it - it's not waterproof and I'm amazed it's still working.

I didn't think it was actually waterproof. I am surprised that it's still working as well. Good to know though as I always take mine off before entering the pool.

@Bankman1989 is right you're very lucky that your Surge is still working! As our dear friend @SteveH mentioned Fitbit Surge is not waterproof, you can find all this information on the Fitbit Surge manual on page 32. You can also take in count the tips in our website on how to take care of your Fitbit band.

Hope this helps! Woman Very HappyHeart
