Just bought a Surge the other day, got the app installed and here's a few observations and wish list things I would like to see in the Windows 10 app:
1) Heartrate data doesn't give info when you hover over the day's totals. Can't see the times or the actual counts at the time. It would be nice to move the mouse over a peak or low, see the time and the heartrate at that time. It would be easier to corelate an activity with a heartrate, if I culd see the times when a given heartrate is reached. As it is now, with only "AM", "NOON" and "PM" as the only times shown it can be a guessing game.
2) I use RideWithGPS to track my rides on my recumbent trike. It has the ability to import heartrates and calories burned from other devices that track this info. (Which is why I bought the Fitbit Surge...) Unfortunately, this option isn't available with the Fitbit products at all. This is one of the reasons I bought the Surge to begin with, and now I find it's not working as I had hoped. (Might be one reason I return the product and go with something else.)
3) Sleep tracking seems to be fairly accurate, but also can't see heartrates in the sleep tracking widget. I see when I'm, restless, asleep or awake, but nothing on heartrate information. I think this could be helpful.
I got the product because I wanted to integrate a heartrate sensor into my RideWithGPS rides. The fact it also has a built in GPS kind of sweetens the deal a little bit, but isn't a consideration if I can't import this into RideWithGPS. I'm not switching apps to Stravia or MapMyRide, as I didn't like either of these apps, nor the email spam they sent me, even after buying premium for either app... (They both wanted to sell me even more options I wasn't interested in.)
I like a lot of what I see with the Surge so far, but the lack of RideWithGPS support is the deal killer for me. If development is in the pipeline let me know, otherwise this is probably going back to the store.
Respectfully,
Mike G.

@MikeG6.5, I moved this post to the Surge Help Forum. It will get more responses here.

OK, well, I posted it in the apps section, because some of the things I mention are more about the app than they are about the actual device itself.
I do see that RideWithGPS can detect the Surge and connects to it, but the Surge never sends the phone the heartrate info. (It sends it to the Fitbit app on the phone, but I need it on the RideWithGPS app to link it to my rides there.)
No worries, either way.

Even more disconcerting than not having the HRM tied to RWG, I did a ride today and had to hunt for the data in the Fitbit app on my PC. It wasn't readily available in the Dashboard, so I couldn't see the stats, path, HR, nothing, until I dug in a ways.
This makes the whole thing just about worthless when it comes to running the Fitbit Surge with RWG.
And before someone says use Strava, Endomondo or MapMyRide(run) none of these are options. My riding group makes their cue maps on RWG, and I'm not going to translate everything to a different app just to use this tracker.
Fitbit needs to support RWG. You also need to put rides/walks as a dashboard widget to get to them easier. Export out the HR data so it can be tied to RWG, if nothing else....
